Michaela Krusina's Monster Game

Michaela Krusina had a monster game for the Dragons thrilling come from behind win at Frankenmuth.  Ashlyn Beck pitched the first 3 innings allowing 1 run with 2 strike outs. Meagan Photiou came into finish the game on the mound allowing 3 runs in 4 innings.

The game was close all the way to the end as the ladies were down 2-0 heading into the 6th inning.  A leadoff single by Andrea Aldridge who scored on an RBI double by Krusina cut the lead to 2-1.  In the top of the 7th inning with 2 outs Meagan Photiou drew a walk followed by a hit by Hayley Cruthers. Andrea Aldridge then reached base on an error scoring Photiou.  That's when Krusina hit her second home run of the year to the opposite field knocking in 3 runs to go up by a score of 5-2.

In the bottom of the 7th inning Frankenmuth hit a two-run homer to bring the Eagles within 1 run and with no outs. The defense took over with a nice play by Cruthers on a ground ball to short to Gabby Deering who continues to make great plays at first base. The second out was a sharply hit ball to the left fielder Ashley Bush. Photiou got the last batter to pop out to Cruthers to end the game.

The weather held out long enough to complete the first game, but heavy rain forced game 2 to be cancelled.  It was a great come from behind win for the Dragons who travel to Holly Thursday to play a couple more league games.
