Andrea Aldridge has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball for Mercyhurst University – North East Saints, located in Erie, Pa. Andrea has been a regular on the softball field since she started playing softball at the age of 10. She has played softball for a variety of teams in the Swartz Creek Youth League. She played travel ball with the Lasers Fastpitch 16U team for the last 2 years. Andrea is currently a member of the Swartz Creek Dragons Varsity Softball Squad and was recently named one of the team's tri-captains.
Mercyhurst – Northeast Head Softball Coach, Brian Dewey said that he is excited about Andrea’s signing her National Letter of Intent and accepting the softball scholarship that was offered. He believes that she will be able to “help our softball team right away and fill a speed and short game role that I really want in my lineup.” He went on to say that she will also add some additional speed in the outfield.
Andrea will be studying Culinary Arts at Mercyhurst and later continue to get a degree in hospitality management. After two years at Mercyhurst University – North East, she will continue on to another college to finish her degree. Her goals are to get another softball scholarship by the time she is finished at the North East campus.
Congratulations to Andrea from all of your friends, family, coaches, and teammates!
