It was senior night in Swartz Creek as the 5 players played their final two games on the Dragons Varsity Field. Left-to-Right: Coach Clolinger, Michaela Krusina (4-year starter), Gabby Deering (3-year starter), Coach Messer, Emily Weekly (1st year player), Ashlyn Beck (2-year starter), Andrea Aldridge (2-year starter), and Coach Stamm.

The seniors and rest of the Dragons wasted little time generating offense tonight as the team scored 8 runs in the bottom of the 1st to set the tone for the night. Hayley Cruthers led off with a single up the middle, stole second base and then stole third base. An errant throw by the catcher hit Cruthers and bounced into left field, which she took advantage of to score the first Dragon run.
Gabby Deering walked and then took second on a wild pitch. Michaela Krusina doubled to score Deering. Carah Pletscher doubled to score Krusina. Hanna Sayles came into courtesy run for Pletscher. On a ground out Sayles moved to third. Ashlyn Beck smacked a double to score Sayles. Emily Weekly walked. A bunt single by Andrea Aldridge loaded the bases. Cruthers got up again in the inning and singled again to score Beck and Weekly. Hailey Fox ripped a triple to the fence to score Aldridge and Cruthers before the inning ened with Creek up 8-0.
Creek did not score in the second or third innings despite a walk by Aldridge and singles by Cruthers and Abby McGuire.
Pletscher hit a one-out single in the fourth with Sayles coming into courtesy run for her. Sayles stole second. With 2 outs, Beck singled to score Sayles and that's where the inning would end with Creek up 9-0.
In the fifth Aldridge had another bunt single and stole second base. Cruthers long sacrifice fly moved Aldridge to third. Fox reached base on an error that scored Aldridge, which was the final play of the game giving Creek victory by the run-rule 10-0.
Pletscher pitched her first career no-hitter for Creek with 9 strikeouts dominating Carman.

The senior night festivities took place between the games and the Dragons family celebrated the careers and friendships of the girls, but then got right back to taking care of business on the field.
Cruthers led off the game by welcoming the new pitcher for Carman to Creek by smashing a double over the center fielder's head. Fox reached base on an error that held Cruthers at second. On a double steal Cruthers was caught stealing at third with Fox moving to second. Deering reached base on another error that also scored Fox with Deering trotting down to second on the throw. Krusina walked. AJ Brookman singled with 2 outs to score Deering and move Krusina to third, while taking second on the throw. Sayles came into courtesy run for Brookman. McGuire walked to load the bases. Aldridge reached base on an error that scored Krusina and Sayles. Emily Rodriguez singled to score McGuire and Aldridge, while moving to second on the throw.
Cruthers hit another line-drive double to the fence to score Rodriguez. The double was Cruthers 22nd of the year, which ties her own Dragon record and also her MHSAA record (5th all-time most doubles in a season). The record is 27 doubles in a single season and the career record is 78. The junior Cruthers now has 56 career doubles, which is 8th best all-time.
Fox singled to score Cruthers. Deering singled pushing Fox to third, while advancing to second on the throw. Fox scored on a wild pitch before Krusina was walked. And the inning ended with Creek up 9-0.
Nothing much took place until the top of the 5th when Carman used 1 hit and 3 errors to score 3 runs and cut the score to 9-3.
In the bottom of the sixth Fox belted a double followed by a walk to Deering. Krusina hit a long single, which held the runners from getting too far, but loaded the bases. Pletscher ripped a double to score Fox and Deering and moved Krusina to third. Krusina scored on a dropped 3rd strike play to first. Lauren Adas reached base on a feilder's choice and moved Pletscher to 3rd. Aldridge had another bunt single to score Pletscher and end the game by the run-rule 13-3.
Brookman pitched for Creek giving up no earned runs on 2 hits with 3 strike outs.
The wins improved the Dragons overall record to 31-6, their all-time best (by far).
Next up for the Dragons will be at Clio on Saturday, June 2nd at 10:00am for a district match up versus Flushing.
