The Dragons swept Clio Thursday night to improve their overall record to 17-5 and league best record of 11-1. The ladies will have the weekend off for Mother's Day before travelling to Lake Orion on Monday night for a non-conference double-header.

The opener ended in 6 innings by the run rule as the Dragons came out ready to play. AJ Brookman started on the mound for Creek. Clio scored a run in the top of the 1st inning on a single, sacrifice bunt, and an error.
Hayley Cruthers doubled to start the bottom of the 1st for Creek. Carah Pletscher reached base on an error that sent Cruthers to 3rd. Pletscher stole 2nd with Cruthers stealing home on the throw to 2nd. Brookman grounded out moving Pletscher to 3rd. Ashley Dusseau walked with 1 out putting runners on the corners. Lauren Adas singled scoring Pletscher and moving Dusseau to 2nd. Lauren Black walked to load the bases. Hanna Sayles reached base on an error by the right fielder after hitting the ball high and deep to the warning track, clearing the bases. The inning came to a close with Creek up 5-1.
Clio was held scoreless in the top of the 2nd. Cruthers reached base on an error. Pletscher singled moving Cruthers to 2nd. Brookman grounded out moving the runners to 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs. But, they would be stranded with the score still 5-1.
Clio was held scoreless in the top of the 3rd. Adas led off with a single. Tabby Miller came into courtesy run. Black singled to left field with Miller getting thrown out at 3rd. Sayles grounded out moving Black to 2nd with 2 outs. Jamie Perigo singled moving Black to 3rd and advancing to 2nd on the throw. Cruthers received her 1st intentional walk of the day to load the bases. And the Dragons would leave the bases loaded with the score still 5-1.
Clio did not score again in the top of the 4th. Brookman led off for Creek with a single. Phoebe Cross came into courtesy run. Hailey Fox reached base on an error that sent Cross to 2nd. A wild pitch moved the runners up. A ground out by Adas scored Cross and moved Fox to 3rd. Black singled scoring Fox. And the inning came to an end with the Dragons up 7-1.
No score again for Clio in the top of the 5th. Cruthers reached base on an error in the outfield putting her on 2nd base. Pletscher singled with Cruthers holding up at 3rd. Brookman hit a sacrifice fly to score Cruthers. And that would be it for the scoring with Creek up 8-1.
Clio scored a run in the top of the 6th with a single, couple walks, and a sacrifice to make the score 8-2.
Adas led off the bottom of the 6th with a double down the right field line. Miller came into courtesy run. Black singled scoring Miller, while advancing to 2nd on the throw. Sayles ripped one of her biggest hits on the season, a long double in the right center gap moving Black to 3rd with 1 out. Perigo was hit by a pitch to load the bases with Cruthers coming to the plate. Cruthers singled scoring Black and Sayles moving Perigo to 2nd. Pletscher singled scoring Perigo and Cruthes ending the game by the run rule.
Brookman pitched all 6 innings for Creek allowing 1 earned run on 3 hits with 2 strikeouts and 4 walks.
Adas had 3 hits including a double, 2 RBIs, and scored. Black had 3 hits with an RBI and scored. Pletscher had 3 hits with 2 RBIs and scored. Cruthers 2 hits including a double, scored 3 runs, an intentional walk, and had 2 RBIs. Sayles, Perigo, and Brookman had a hit apiece.

The nightcap was a lot closer game with the Dragons finding themselves behind late in the game again. Pletscher started the game on the mound for Creek. The Dragons would be the visiting team in the nightcap.
Cruthers led off the game with a single. A ground out by Pletscher moved her to 2nd. Brookman grounded out to short with Cruthers advancing to 3rd on the throw, then scored on an errant throw by the first baseman to 3rd. That would be it for the scoring though with Creek up 1-0.
Clio didn't score in the bottom of the 1st. Dusseau reached base on an error to start the 2nd inning. A hard line drive right at the first baseman by Black made for an easy double play ending the inning.
Clio was held scoreless again in the bottom of the 2nd. Emily Rodriguez walked with 1 out in the top of the 3rd. Cruthers singled moving Rodriguez to 2nd. Brookman singled scoring Rodriguez with Cruthers stopping at 2nd. And that would be it for the scoring with Creek up 2-0.
Clio turned the tables on the Dragons in the bottom of the 3rd taking the lead 3-2 on 3 hits, an error, and wild pitch.
Dusseau reached base on another error to start the 4th. Black grounded out moving Dusseau to 2nd. But, she would be stranded as the inning ended.
With 1 out and nobody on base Clio challenged Cruthers who responded by ripping her 8th Home Run on the season, a line drive over the center field fence, tying the game up 3-3. Pletscher reached base on an error. Brookman surprised Clio with a bunt that got her safely to 1st and moved Pletscher to 2nd. Fox bunted too, which resulted in an errant throw by the 3rd baseman all the way into right field scoring both Pletscher and Brookman. Fox however stayed on 1st base, because she twisted her ankle on the bag while trying to beat the throw. The inning came to a close, but the Dragons had regained the lead 5-3.
Clio came back with a run in the bottom of the 5th on a double, an error, and sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 5-4.
Sayles singled with 1 out in the 6th. She then stole 2nd base. Cruthers was intentionally walked for the 2nd time on the day. Sayles and Cruthers moved up on a wild pitch. Pletscher singled scoring Sayles and Cruthers, while moving to 2nd on the throw home. She would be stranded, but the Dragons increased their lead to 7-4.
Phoebe Cross came into pitch in the bottom of the 6th with Pletscher moving to 3rd base and Dusseau to right field. Clio was held scoreless in the inning.
Fox led off the top of the 7th with a long double in the right center gap. Dusseau laid down a sacrifice bunt moving Fox to 3rd with 1 out. But, she would be stranded heading into the bottom of the 7th.
Clio led off the inning with a single. But, she would be left on 1st base with the Dragons getting the next 3 batters out to secure the win.
Pletscher pitched 5 innings allowing 4 earned runs on 5 hits with 6 strike outs and no walks. Cross pitched 2 innings allowing no runs on 2 hits .
Cruthers had 3 hits including a Home Run, RBI, an intentional walk, and scored 3 runs. Brookman had 2 hits, RBI, and scored. Fox had a Double and 2 RBIs. Pletscher had a hit, 2 RBIs, and scored. Sayles had a hit and scored.
