The Dragons played very well Monday night sweeping leauge opponent Holly on a beautiful night in Swartz Creek. Kylee Pierce and Hailey Dupuis, who have been playing with the varsity during weekend tournaments, were called up for the remainder of the season. All 16 members of the team contributed to improve their league record to 8-4 and overall record to 14-12.

Phoebe Cross started the game on the mound for the Dragons. A Holly batter reached base on an error, but was caught stealing between 2nd and 3rd to end the inning.
With one out Hailey Fox reached 2nd base on an error. Lauren Black singled to score Fox. She would be stranded as the inning ended with the Dragons up 1-0.
Holly stranded another runner who reached base on a walk after 2 strikeouts by Cross.
Ashley Dusseau singled with one out in the bottom of the 2nd. A bunt single put runners on 1st and 2nd with Kylee Pierce coming into courtesy run. Hanna Sayles singled to score Dusseau and move Pierce to 3rd. She stole 2nd on the first pitch. With 2 outs Tabby Miller had a bunt single that scored Pierce and Sayles. She was caught stealing to end the inning with Creek up 4-0.
Holly managed a 2-out double in the top of the 3rd, but she was stranded keeping the score 4-0.
Black led off the bottom of the 3rd with a double off the fence. Hailey Dupuis came into pinch run. Another double scored Black followed by a wild pitch and ground out to 2nd by Jamie Perigo scored another run. Dusseau doubled with 2 outs. A single scored Dusseau with Pierce coming into courtesy run again. A walk to Sayles and single by Fox scored Dusseau before the inning ended with the Dragons up 8-0.
Madisen Henry entered the game to pitch for the Dragons in the top of the 4th. A walk and error put runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. But, a ground out, an ESPN Top-Ten diving catch by the 3rd baseman Dusseau on a pop up in foul territory and a strikeout kept Holly off the scoreboard.
The Dragons added 2 more runs in the bottom of the 4th on a single, RBI single by Kara Manier and RBI double by Dusseau to make the score 10-0.
A single and error put 2 runners on for Holly in the top of the 5th, but they would be stranded giving the Dragons a run-rule win 10-0.
Cross pitched 3 innings allowing 1 hit and 1 walk with 2 strikeouts. Henry pitched 2 innings also allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk with 2 strikeouts.
Dusseau had 3 hits including 2 doubles, scored twice with an RBI. Black had 2 hits and an RBI. Fox, Manier and Sayles each had a hit, scored and an RBI. Miller had a hit and 2 RBIs.
Swartz Creek 14 Holly 4
The Dragons would be the away team in the nightcap. With 1 down Fox reached base on an error. A walk to Danielle Heron put runners on 1st and 2nd. Henry doubled off the fence scoring both Fox and moving Heron to 3rd. Cross came into courtesy run for Henry. Abby Stringer grounded out to score Heron before the inning ended with Creek up 2-0.
Henry started and would go on to pitch the complete game for the Dragons. Holly was retired in order in the bottom of the 1st.
Manier led off the 2nd with a walk, but she would be stranded. Holly was set down in order again in the bottom of the 2nd.
Fox scored on a lead off walk that was followed immediately by two wild pitches and an error. Henry reached base on an error by the right fielder. Cross came into courtesy run. Stringer and Gabby Oberlin were both hit by pitches, which loaded the bases. Miller and Sayles came into pinch run for Stringer and Oberlin. With 2 outs Dusseau tripled clearing the bases and giving the Dragons a 6-0 lead before the inning ended.
Holly got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the 3rd after an error and single put 2 on with 2 outs followed by a home run. The inning ended with the Dragons lead cut to 6-3.
In the top of the 4th Dupuis doubled and would score on an single by Heron. Henry also doubled moving Heron to 3rd. Cross came into courtesy run. Two line outs to left field by Stringer and Oberlin ended the inning with the Dragons up 7-3.
Holly managed a 2 out double in the bottom of the 4th, but would not score.
Manier reached base on an error in the top of the 5th with Jamier Perigo coming into courtesy run. Dusseau doubled again moving Perigo to 3rd. A sacrifice bunt by Dupuis scored Perigo before the inning ended with Creek up 8-3.
Holly used 2 hits, a walk and an error to score cutting the lead to 8-4 after 5 innings of play.
Heron reached base on an error to start the 6th. A single by Oberlin put runners on 1st and 2nd. With 2 outs Manier singled to score Heron. Dussea hit a ball that was dropped by the center fielder. The error scored Oberlin, but Manier was thrown out at the plate ending the inning with the Dragons extending their lead to 10-4.
Holly was kept off the scoreboard in the 6th, while the Dragons added 4 more runs in the top of the 7th. A lead off single by Pierce followed by another double by Dupuis put runners on 1st and 2nd. Fox doubled to score Pierce and Dupuis. Henry singled. A ground out by Stringer scored Fox. A single by Oberlin scored Henry. The inning ended with the Dragons up 14-4.
Holly led off the 7th with an infield hit. Creek got two outs on a fielder's choice and infield pop out. With Holly down to their last out the Dragons right fielder Manier ran down a ball making an ESPN Top Ten leaping catch on a liner in the right center gap to end the game.
Henry allowed 3 runs on 6 hits with 4 strikeouts. She added 3 hits including 2 doubles, an RBI and scored. Dupuis had two doubles and scored twice. Fox doubled with 2 RBIs and scored three times. Dusseau had 2 hits including a double and triple with 3 RBIs. Manier had a hit, an RBI and scored twice. Oberlin had 2 hits, was hit by a pitch, an RBI and scored twice. Heron had a hit, walk, RBI and scored twice. Pierce had a hit and scored. Stringer had an RBI and was hit by a pitch.
