2014 Dragons Season Ends

The Dragons travelled to Kearsley Saturday for district play.  They played Carman Ainsworth in their first game getting an easy win 10-0 in 5 innings.  Keasley took on Flushing in the second game.  Kearsley also won in lopsided fashion 8-0.  The Dragons and Kearsley split a double header earlier in the season in league action and would now play for the district championship.  Unfortunately for Creek, the game ended with Kearsley coming from behind in the bottom of the 7th to win the game and advance to regionals at Saginaw Valley State University.  The 2014 Dragons season ended with a 15-17 overall record.

Phoebe Cross pitched the complete game allowing just one hit in the bottom of the 5th inning with 5 strikeouts.  Danielle Heron had 2 hits including a double and scored twice with 2 RBIs.  Tabby Miller had 2 hits, walk and scored twice with an RBI.  Lauren Black had a hit and walk and scored with 2 RBIs.  Hailey Fox walked and scored twice.  Jamie Perigo had a hit, 2 walks and scored.  Kara Manier walked with Hanna Sayles coming into pinch run and score.  Ashley Dusseau walked with an RBI. Kylee Pierce was hit by a pitch and scored.

Lauren Black had 3 hits and 2 RBIs.  Danielle Heron had a hit and scored.  Hailey Fox had 2 hits and scored.  Tabby Miller had 2 hits. 


The Dragons out hit Kearsley 9-2, but stranded 9 runners proving to be the difference in the game.  Twice they left the bases loaded.  Kearsley did not have an earned run in the game due to 4 errros by the Dragons.
