Kearsley 6 Swartz Creek 4
The Dragons lost a heartbreaker in the opener at Kearsley in the bottom of the 13th inning. Despite the loss, it was probably the best game they've played as a team this year. It was certainly a great game for all of the spectators and even the umpires.
In the top of the 1st the Dragons were retired in order. Kearsley managed a 2-out walk, but did not score. Swartz Creek was set down in order in the 2nd as well, but so was Kearsley. The Dragons got a 2-out walk from Allison Dusseau in the top of the 3rd. A single by Ella Sinclair put runners on 1st and 3rd. Sinclair promptly stole 2nd, but both runners would be stranded on a nice play in the outfield by the Kearlsey right fielder on a hit by Kylee Pierce. Kearsley got a lead-off double and a 2-out walk in the bottom of the 3rd, but failed to score.
Ashley Dusseau ripped a double to start the 4th inning, but she would be stranded with the help of a nice play by the 3rd baseman on a hit by Danielle Heron. Kearsley got on the board in the 4th with a single and double taking a 1-0 lead. The Dragons got a lead-off single by Lauren Pletscher to start the 5th. She advanced to 2nd on a ground out and scored on a single by Sinclair to tie the game. But, Kearsley regained the lead with 2 hits and 2 walks taking a 2-1 lead into the 6th.
Kara Manier got a 1-out walk in the 7th with Hailey Dupuis coming into courtesy run. With 2 away Sinclair singled putting runners on 1st and 2nd. Kylee Pierce singled to score Dupuis to tie the game before the inning ended. Kearsley was retired in order in the bottom of the 7th. The Dragons were retired in order in the top of the 8th with the help of a diving right fielder robbing Natalie Oldrahm of a hit. Kearsley was retired in order in the 8th as well.
Pletscher led off the 9th with a single. A sacrifice bunt by Allison Dusseau moved her to 2nd, but she would be stranded. Kearsley went down 1-2-3 in the 9th with the game still tied. In the 10th Ashley Dusseau hit the ball hard, but again was robbed by a nice play at short. Lauren Black singled with 2 outs, but would be stranded. Kearsley got a lead-off single to start the 10th, but she would not score with the game tied heading into the 11th.
League rules use the international tie breaker from the 11th inning on, so the last out Danielle Heron took 2nd base to start the inning. Oldrham put down a perfect bunt, but was called out of the box on a questionalble call by the umpire. The Dragons failed to score. Kearsley starting with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the 11th inning moved her to 3rd with a sacrifice bunt. On a fly out to the Dragon left fielder McKenzie McDaniel the runner attempted to score but was out at the plate on a great throw and tag keeping the game tied.
McDaniel started at 2nd base in the 12th. A sacrifice bunt by Allison Dusseau moved her to 3rd, but she would be stranded. Kearsley managed to get runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the 12th, but could not score. Pierce took 2nd base as the last out to start the 13th. Ashley Dusseau was robbed again on another hard hit that the center fielder made a nice play on for the 1st out. Black smashed a double to score Pierce and take the lead. With 2 outs Oldrham doubled to score Black before the inning ended with Creek up 4-2.
A sacrifice fly moved the Kearsley runner to 3rd with 1 out. Another sacrifice fly scored her cutting the lead to 4-3. The next batter walked taking a pitch that the Swartz Creek faithful believed to be the game ending 3rd strike. A single put 2 runners on with 2 outs. With 2 outs and 2 strikes Kearsley got a home run from the #7 hitter to win the game in dramatic fashion.
For the Dragons Ella Sinclair had 3 hits and 2 stolen bases. Lauren Black had 2 hits including a double, RBI and scored. Lauren Pletscher had 2 hits and scored. Kylee Pierce had a hit, RBI and scored. Ashley Dusseau had 2 hits. Hailey Dupuis scored. Allison Dusseau had 2 sacrifice bunts and a walk. Madisen Henry pitched the entire game allowing only 8 hits with 10 strike outs.

The Dragons failed to put up much of a fight in the nighcap getting run-ruled in 5. They managed only 3 hits including a double from Ella Sinclair, single by Kylee Pierce and double by Ashley Dusseau. Phoebe Cross pitched.
