Another Sweep for the Dragons

The Dragons improved their overall record on the season to 17-19 after back to back shutouts of Powers Tuesday night.  Next up they'll travel to Lapeer for their final 2 games of the regular season on Thursday night.  On Tuesday, May 31st at 4pm in Flushing the Dragons will take on Carman Ainsworth in a pre-district game to start the post season.  If they win, they'll play Saturday at Flushing in Districts.  If they lose, their season will be over.


The games marked the final time the 3 seniors would play on the Swartz Creek Varsity Field.  It was an emotional evening after the games ended for Samantha Lyons, Ella Sinclair and Madisen Henry.

Madisen Henry pitched another shutout for the Dragons, while racking up 14 more strikeouts for the season.  She now stands at 271.  She only allowed 1 hit and 1 walk.  Natalie Oldrham had a 2-run Homer to the opposite field.  Jess Verran had 2 hits and scored. Kylee Pierce had a triple, walk, RBI and scored.  Madison Majestic had a hit, RBI and scored.  Ella Sinclair had a hit.

Jess Verran pitched the second game for the Dragons, allowing just 2 hits, 2 walks with 4 strikeouts.  She also had a hit, sac bunt and her courtesy runner Abigail Buckner scored.  Kylee Pierce had 2 hits and a walk. Ella Sinclair had a hit and scored.  Allison Dusseau had a hit and an RBI.  Madison Majestic had a double.  Natalie Oldrham had a double and scored.  Olivia Hughes had a hit.
